“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Genesis 1″27

The salient truth here is that God can be understood better by looking at ourselves, the better aspects of ourselves. 

We may rightly infer that God is loving, compassionate, gentle, kind, merciful, forgiving. But to an extent unknown by us. Our goodness is corrupted and mixed with evil and self interest. Not so with God. He is perfect and perfected in all those attributes admirable in humankind. Praise His name.

This is such an important truth. As we reflect upon the attributes of God, scripture is our direct teacher but by inference, we may expect that our Heavenly Father possesses the best of our makeup.

Ask yourself, would you be unfaithful to your child? Would you be callous or unhearing of your child? Would you harm your child? Would you promise something and then forget about it?

Think about this as you think about your Heavenly Father.
